Fix For micro sd card unmounting itself on Yoga Tablets

2016-11-28, 23:56 PM

My Windows 10 (64 bit) Lenovo Yoga 3 11 has been suffering from the constantly unmounting sd card problem for some months. It used to work, so I doubted the problem was hardware. I realise this thread is under Android tablets but I'm sure I've seen posts in this thread from Windows users.

I searched the internet for the problem and could find no definite solution.

So I decided to kick arse and came up with the following solution which worked a treat for me and my Windows 10 Lenovo Yoga 3 11:

  1. Insert SD card
  2. Open My Computer (file explorer), open properties of SD card, hardware tab, select SDHC Card, select properties, General tab, change settings, driver tab, select Uninstall
  3. Download driver from http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-2-pro-lenovo/downloads/ds037475 and install the driver by double clicking the file
  4. Download driver from http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-13-notebook-ideapad/downloads/ds031972 and install the driver by double clicking the file
  5. Restart windows (may not be necessary)
  6. SD card problem should now be solved!

Moved Thread to proper Board and Subject edited.

It's 100% stable, whether the SD card is being accessed or not.

The instructons in my first post only need to be performed once (and not every time you insert an SD card), as the solution is permanent.
