I recently purchased a Lenovo ideapad flex 15. It is upgraded to Windows 8.1. My problem is the wireless network "current" driver does not work and windows keeps updating my working driver to the "current" version.
The wireless adaptor, Intel Wireless-N 7260 came with driver version 188.8.131.52 installed. With that driver version, the wifi would not stay connected to the internet. It would connect to the router, but would constantly drop the internet connection (this produces a little yellow triangle on the wifi indicator on the start bar).
I rolled back the driver to version 184.108.40.206 which was on the computer. It works perfectly with this driver version, but every day or so windows updates the driver back to 220.127.116.11 and the internet stops working. How do I make it stop doing this?
I've tried changing some update settings, but nothing seems to do the trick.

In Windows 7 (don't know about Windows 8.1 or WIndows 8), you can go to "devices and printers" -> right click on your computer -> select device installation settings -> select "Never install driver software from Windows update". Try to find the device installation settings in Windows 8 / 8.1 and you'll surely stop Windows from installing any drivers when you perform Windows updates.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, I've tried that. I have it set that way now, and it still updated my driver this morning. It seems like that only refers to downloads, perhaps I need to delete the "current" driver off my system? I'll try that.

So I'm having trouble identifying the right driver files to remove and I don't want to remove the wrong things. Any guidance on this? Or this there a different solution to my problem. It is really obnoxious.

Here's my suggestion: go to device managers and uninstall the Intel 7260 there. Make sure to exactly follow the screenshot below:
Keep repeating the procedure, making sure to delete the driver software until Windows can't find the drivers on the local drive (make sure to never use Windows update to install drivers). You should see a unknown device shown in device manager.
Then go to this site to download the 18.104.22.168 drivers: http://www2.sagernotebook.com/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=8230
Note that 7260AC and 7260N use the same drivers.

22.214.171.124 is working great for me. I believe it is the latest from Intel.

Sorry to bother you again, where did you find that driver?, I went to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23549&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%208... and tried the first one. It seems to be installing but when going to the Device Manager no changes at all, I rebooted and no changes.
thank you again
