Hey Nolan,

looks like you have a lot more pen jitter than I have for all the pens. Don't have the wacom shown here, but it shows more diagonal wave than either the integrated or active pen. Most of these lines are drawn pretty slowly

Does holding your hand completely off the screen help in any way? I had a matte screen protector on mine for a while that did make the jitter worse, these lines are after I removed it, which definately helped. I don't think you'll ever get rid of the wave completely, due to the limitation of the digitizer, I think N-Trig is slightly better in this regard, though has higher activation force and worse pressure curve control.

You can also try removing the lenovo version of the pen driver, and using Wacom's latest feel drivers. (just google wacom feel driver). They should be the same thing, but there might be slight differences.

Hi Qyygle

thanks for sharing. All the black lines - are they from the lenovo active pen 2 ? I also has a screen protector (glossy - that had very hig hfriction in some areas) that i removed. That reduced the waving phenomenon but still a fairly amount of jitter on especially on the wacom. I dodnt notice any difference if my hand is off the screen (although its very difficult not to induce movement into the lines... :-)). Maybe i should try the wacom feel driver...

On the wacom bamboo ink plus, I changed the nib to the "blue" type - that actully significantly improved the jitter problem, but the nib is rather hard and the friction on the screen very low.

Yes. Black and green were the active pen 2. The blue is the internal pen

Thanks for feedback. using same pens, i now get the same results ( i downloaded the wacom drivers, which i understand lenovo pen uses too) That seems to have improved performance.

@nolanC940 @Qyygle

My C940 14 (4k screen) is showing what I would classify as unacceptable jitter, that manifests both as the usual wavy diagonals but also as a finer, higher frequency line-tremor (see capture). I'm using the integrated stylus.

Any carefull drawing that I try comes out as shaky mess, and it's definetelly not my hands.

I'm currently talking to Lenovo tech support for my country to see what can be done (Repair? Replacement? Coud it be the stylus or the scrren/digitzer?), but if this turns out to be a "feature", it's an unnaceptable flaw in what is otherwise an amazing device - and an expensive one at that.

Sad to read about the jitter when writing diagonal lines, lets hope Lenovo fix this.

It's great that the C940 comes with a pen, but I would prefer a full size pen for long time usage.

Per the post title, I would be interested to read about the best stylus / pen including button and tilt support at a respective price, it would have to be something special for me to spend more than £25 on a pen, I have lost the £100 MS Surface stylus and don't want to loose anymore. I have two cost effective styli for my MS Surface, sadly, both being incomplete with the C940.

Thanks for any support and guidance in this area.

Steve

Hi ,

You can check on ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, ThinkStation, Ideapad and Ideacentre Option Compatibility Matrix and here's Lenovo's Accessories and Options Compatibility Matrix website as I'm not sure why I can't open the files on my end at this moment.

Regards

Jeremy
