Hello Lenovo Community
I use the Lenovo Yoga 520 for 2 months from now and I'm very happy with it.
And since I want to extend my life with it, I prefer to upgrade its components to maximum setup. Unfortunately, the RAM is only one slot and it has samsung 8GB 2400MHZ which is not enough for my multi tasks So, I decide to upgrade it to 16GB. So, I bought RAM from Gloway 16GB 2133MHZ and replaced the 8 GB. I turn on the power but, it won't turn on. The keyboard lit is on for 5 second then it off and nothing happen. Only the cooling fan is spinning.
It is not defective RAM due I installed into my ACER F15 and it works perfectly.
So, since the maximum RAM for Yoga 520 is 16GB , where is the problem? Is it not recognize the RAM brand or the RAM speed is low?
Note , I replaced the Samsung ram with crucial 8GB 2400mhz and works perfectly.
So I need help

Hi...did you manage a resolution? I am using an Ideapad 320s 14Ikb and tried to upgrade with the same RAM that you mentioned but no luck so far. I also updated the BIOS and loaded all available updates. Folks help will be appreciated

Sorry I meant resolution of the problem.. not the display... BIOS update did not help. My current 4gb ram that came with the laptop is 2133 and so is the new ram. So don't know what could be the issue. BIOS also has no options for changes that could help...

It's Hynix. But Lenovo sites states 2400 as compatible Rams as well. in fact only 2400 ones are mentioned. So speed is definitely not an issue... It's something perhaps related to BIOS
