Hard Disk Security

I never set a hardisk password, there was a error on the pc, a message came up "click ok to fix",  I didn't click anything and pushed the power button and waited. When I powered it on; a screen came up "harddisk security - Lock PCIE 6440DF " again, I never set a harddisk password.  Is there a way to flash the bios to bypass this.  I't a Lenovo 2 in 1 Ideapad model 81CX.

Re: Hard Disk Security

Welcome to the Community!

I was researching this for another user and came to the conclusion this is either a virus or a failing hard drive. Given what happened just before the issue, I'd suspect the former, in your case.  You'd need to get a new hard drive and install it using your most recent backup or system image.

Can you boot from a USB drive?  Can you boot into the BIOS settings?
