How to disable battery before replacing SSD and/or wifi module in Yoga 730 15" and Yoga C930?

2019-05-26, 18:10 PM

Hi, for the X1E, before replacing compoents, it is suggested on the manual that we need to go to the BIOS to disable the battery first. How about the 4K version of Yoga 730 15" and Yoga C930?

Re: How to disable battery before replacing SSD and/or wifi module in Yoga 730 15" and Yoga C93

Hi lenovotv,

Greetings.

Unline most of the thinkline laptops like the X1E, disable battery in the BIOS is not available in both Yoga 730 and C930.

To apply safety during handling of the internal parts, manually disconnecting the battery first would do the job as mentioned in the hardware manual of the yoga 730 and C930

I would just like to mention additional step after removing the pen and opening the backcover. When the battery is disconnected, press the power button for 12 seconds wearing a static bracelet would fully drain flea power from the machine.

I hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
