Assuming you're on a Yoga 13, here are two ideas to try:

1) try disabling the YMC service - I leave this disabled on mine with no ill effects.  You can always re-enable it if you find something useful about it.

2) reinstall the thermal framework drivers - I know that this is safe to do, as several people have had to do this to remedy issues, and I did it on mine just to test it out.  Get the Thermal Framework drivers on the Lenovo driver page:  http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS032590

Cheers,

Thanks for the fixes - wondering if you might know anything about the compatibility issues with Windows 8.1  My Yoga keeps giving me this message...

Your power management system isn't compatible with this version of Windows. (using 8.1)

The model name of your power management system is Lenovo ACPI-Compliant Virtual Power Controller.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

I am not  familiar with this issue - is this a Yoga 13? Here is something to try:

BTW, always a good idea to first create a system restore point for peace of mind.  Then any changes you make can be undone. (Search on "Create a restore point" from the start screen).

I would try updating drivers related to this:

Go to Device Manager (Windows key + 'x') for the power menu, choose Device Manager.

Expand the "Batteries" item.  Look for a sub-item related to ACPI compliant battery or power control, right click on that, and select update driver.  If this doesn't help, you might actually try removing the device and rebooting, to see if Windows will redetect something different on reboot, especially if it has a yellow exclamation point on it.  But please make sure you have a restore point before removing any devices.

I don't know, hope that helps.

FYI...this works on the Yoga 11s as well. I was having this same issue...video skipping/unresponsive when in kisok mode. I disabled ymc service and it immediately fixed it. Thanks Imader!!!

Cool, thanks for the feedback.

One thing to double check is that your keyboard/trackpad still properly disables when you fold the screen back into Kiosk mode.  For some reason, on some machines with YMC disabled, this no longer works correctly, whereas for others including myself, the keyboard/trackpad still disables properly when folded back.

If you find that the keyboard/trackpad is not disabling in these modes, you can use the other solution to fix the skipping/unresponsiveness, which is to disable the DTPF in BIOS.

I didn't even realize it at first, but you were right...the trackpad and kb were still active after disabling ymc. So, I did the bios trick and it worked like a charm! Very quick fix and everything seems to be working perfect now thanks to you Imader. One thing that's bugging me...I can't remember after playing with this thing after a week...is the screen supposed to auto rotate in laptop mode? I thought for sure it did it the other day but now I can't get it to do it. No biggie really, just weird.

Yes, the keyboard should rotate in laptop mode, and any mode, really.  I have had it get "stuck" on occasion, but pretty rarely.  On my machine, if I just close the lid, to sleep the machine, and then open it, it works again.

Also, make sure that autorotate mode hasn't been accidentally turned off. Press the little button on the right side of the unit.  When you press the button you will see a message on screen indicating the mode you just toggled to. So if it was already in autorotate mode, pressing the button will show that it is now turned off.  Press it agin and it would be back on.

I just bought a ThinkPad USB 3.0 Dock and I am using it with a Yoga 13.  Install goes well and everything works like a charm until I have to restart.  Then the Yoga get's hung up on the restart are asks me to restore from last known good startup.  Sounds like a conflict somewhere I cannot figure it out.  Any ideas?
