INSERT key Yoga 9 (14ITL5) behavior, keycode

I want to use this Insert key as I have used it on every other laptop/desktop so far.

Fn+I and Fn+Insert key are working well, but they are too uncomfortable for me. After a workday my fingers will be broken because I often use Ctrl+Insert and Shift+Insert, or sometimes I want to press just a simple Insert key (for example in Total Commander). Sometimes the Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V are not appropriate because a "^V" will appear.

Is there any way Insert key works as I expect? (As an Insert key).

I am interested in all kinds of solutions, for example BIOS/UEFI downgrade, Windows registry settings, driver changing, AutoHotkey (for key remappnigs)

I tried to use AutoHotkey but it can't detect Insert and PrtSc keys on my laptop. Nothing happens when I press these buttons. I tried Keyboardtest and scancodemap programs too and they can't detect simple Insert button either. (Both of them can detect Fn+Insert as Insert (keycode 45)).

Thanks in advance

Hello @ak211_2 !

Welcome to the Community Forums!

Please share your device's machine type model / MTM (ex. 81C70000RK or 20UD000BUS) from the sticker usually under the case. This would help us detail more about your machine variant while keeping the confidentiality of your serial number.

You may check this link and follow the provided steps in there to swap the FN (Function) and CTRL (Control) keys in BIOS or your device.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Re:INSERT key Yoga 9 (14ITL5) behavior, keycode

Hello Adriel_Lenovo,

My device's MTM is 82BG005DHV

I have a little doubt the Fn-Ctrl swap will solve the problem but of course I will try.

I have no Fn-Ctrl swap option in BIOS (EHCN65WW). There are Hotkey (Disabled) and Fool proof Fn Ctrl (Disabled) only which are similar.
I have no Keyboard Manager on Control Panel page. I have "Lenovo - Microphone Mute" and "Lenovo - update and drivers (32-bit)" only (32? my windows pro is 64-bit).

Based on what I saw in the picture on the site how-to-swap..., Keyboard Manager seems interesting. Should it be installed on my laptop?
(I was too eager sorry, and downloaded r0yvu35w.exe from one of the Lenovo site (not yoga site) but when I run kbdmgr.exe it exits immediately)
