There are a bunch of threads in there about this issue. Definitely look through. I just had this issue and I managed to fix it. GO into your device manager and see if you have an error in a driver. I had one with the Wacom Driver. I then uninstalled it, and had it deleted from the computer entirely (this is an option after you click delete driver.)
Next, I uninstalled the Lenovo Vantage application. Then I restarted. Voila, my touchscreen works again. We'll see if it lasts. Not sure if this will work for you, but it did for me.

Lots of other approaches to try, including updating drivers and BIOS, if you are up to that.
