Re: Ideapad Yoga hard disk allocation

Install the SkyDrive desktop version, and set the folder to be your whole My Documents folder, or whatever you want, and it will automatically sync everything in those folders with Skydrive.

NB This will also sync your whole skydrive with your laptop - if you don't want that you need to exclude certain folders in Settings > Choose Folders

Thanks for the response. I tried that and it looked like it was saving to my local computer where the skydrive syncs. The idea was to not use any more drive space on this computer. I don't want the skydrive to sync and I want a backup to go directly there. I'll try what you're suggesting buy  it looks like it will create the backup on my computer as well. Perhaps I'm wrong though. Seeing as how I only have 30GB right now on the yoga 13, I'm looking to use as little space as possible until I'm convinced the drive reclaiming solution works without any issues.

can you elaborate a little on this please? I set it to not sync any folders, but the setting my documents as whole folder is a little confusing. Any good youtube links for this? Sorry to sound so ignorant; I am a computer science major, but I've had a bit of rum...lol

Thanks

Re: Ideapad Yoga hard disk allocation

way off topic now, but as a new windows 8 user, anyone know why my hotmail account in the mail app doesn't update very frequently? My Windows phone is getting email responses from this site immediately but they don't show up on the yoga mail app for a while. I wasn't able to find any settings to adjust this, but I'm pretty sure it's set to receive messages immediately. I should probably post a new topic for all my dumb questions, but since I haven't seen any updates on reclaiming drive space, I thought I'd ask some other stupid questions I have. Loving Windows 8 and this ultrabook, but still some things I want to figure out.

Thanks

Is intel rapid start technology necessary? Why not just save 4/8 gb of space? I mean it already boots super fast. Also, how do you go to the bios/?

I had the same problem. I read somewhere (maybe on this forum) that you have to go into the BIOS and enable the "Intel Virtual Technology". To get into the BIOS, shutdown and then power on the laptop by hitting the Lenovo key on the front, to the left of the power button.

After doing this, the Intel Rapid Start installer worked for me.

Another note - the OneKey Recovery does not work anymore after I repartitioned my Yoga. I found a settings file (OKR.xml) that seems to describe the partitions for the OneKey Recovery app. Has anyone tried to modify this file to get the OneKey Recovery working again after performing the repartition?

Thanks for this. Everything works perfectly until the very last process. Trying to reinstall the IRST I get the error "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements", and it quits.  How do I get around that?

Did you see my earlier post above?

I had to enable the "Intel Virtual Technology" in the BIOS.

After I did this, I was able to install the IRST and it worked fine.
