Re: Ideapad yoga 11s wifi constantly dropping out after windows upgrade

Hello! I've searched the posts but not found a working answer so apologies if I've overlooked it somewhere...

I upgraded to Windows 10 Home, version 1803 a few days ago and have been having problems with the wifi ever since. It will connect for a few minutes and then stop loading. When I run the trouble shooter it comes up with 'The default gateway is not available' as a fix and then will work for another few minutes before breaking again.

It is an Ideapad Yoga 11S and has a Realtek RTL8723A Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter.

I have looked around online and tried the following to no avail:

- Switching to Realtek RTL8723AU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter (Mircosoft) and Realtek RTL8723AU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0 Network Adapter (Realtek Semiconductor Corp.), and updating and rolling back all versions to try different version.

- Turned off 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' on the drivers

- Turned the power management to high performance for drivers

- Added a password to stop auto sign in when turning on

- Redownloaded the driver from the Lenovo website to make sure it is up to date.

If anyone has any ideas that can help it'd be much appreciated!

Re: Ideapad yoga 11s wifi constantly dropping out after windows upgrade

Thanks, been looking for this solution for months, since the same update - Yoga 13.

Flushing followed by the network reset was what helped.

Regards.

Re:Ideapad yoga 11s wifi constantly dropping out after windows upgrade

Hi

The network speed on my yoga 11s is really slow --what can I do to speed it up? I purchased a top link nano usb adapter and can now link to a 5g wireless network but the speed test is only 70 mps when another device in the same location connected to the same net work is 150 mps++

Also a wired connection is 150 ish vs 300 on the other device

is these anything to change in the settings? I have searched for driver updates but there are none suggested ....

Please help -- do i need to get a new yoga 2 in 1?

Re:Ideapad yoga 11s wifi constantly dropping out after windows upgrade

Hi!

I have encountered the same problem and I have a Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 model 2191.

The issue for me started after I had updated to the latest version of Windomws 10 some months ago.

I hav tried the "flush dns" commands and I have also changed the configs according to your recommendations.

After doing so the Wifi connections are stable for some hours or days but then again it starts to loose the connection and whenever I let the compute solve the problem it almot always says that it has fixed the DNS gateway...

Re:Ideapad yoga 11s wifi constantly dropping out after windows upgrade

I've been having trouble with the same issue on my Yoga 13 for a long time, but manually replacing it with the old driver available here solved the Wifi issue altogether.
The drawback is that you have to replace it every time you make a major update to Windows.
