Internal Speakers

2013-06-12, 2:11 AM

I have a problem with internal speaker crackling on some internet audio and video feeds.  This problem does not recur on external speakers, so must be a problem in the Yoga itself. Does anyone else have this issue and how can I diagnose the problem and try to reduce it, other than by plugging in external USB speakers. Thank you for your help.

hi rfin16,

You can try disabling the Audio enhancements

If that did not work and you said that the issue does not occur on External speakers or Headphone/Earphone, most likely it is a problem with the Speakers and I suggest you call Technical Support for Assistance.

Thanks,

Solid Cruver

Would your solution apply to Windows 8 which is the operating system for my yoga? Thank you for your help.

Disabling the audio enhancements did not work for this. Is there a  new driver available for the audio system? Would that clear this type of problem?

hi rfin16,

The conexant Audio driver installed in Yoga 13 are the recent ones, there are no current update regarding the Audio.

One more thing I may suggest is to try disabling the Dolby HT v4 Equalizer,

You have to go to Control Panel / Hardware and sound / Sound

You will have the Audio devices under Playback Tab look for the Speakers and right click on it

Choose Properties

Once you have the speaker properties windows look for Dolby tab and try turning it off or turning it on and see if it will make a difference.

Or you can try to uninstall the driver and reinstall it from Lenovo Support Website.

Thanks,
