Is there a fix to ensure a closed laptop (Yoga 2 Pro) stays asleep?

I'm getting tired of finding half my battery being depleted because my laptop did not stay alseep.  Wondering if there is a way to fix this issue?

Hi there, Andy          -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

Probably because your laptop isn't even going to sleep. Check the power light to see if it's solid or blinking. If it stays solid your laptop isn't sleeping.

Update us how it goes.

Hi Shashi.  If I close the lid of my laptop, it should go to sleep.  If it is not going to sleep or waking while the lid is closed, then this is an issue.

Like I mentioned, it goes to sleep most of the time.  It's the few times that it doesn't that is of issue

This may be obvious but have you checked Control Panel -> Power Options -> Choose What Closing the Lid Does [and maybe also Change When the Computer Sleeps]?

Do you have an external mouse that is waking it?

I was surprised to find that even though I have Lid Close set to Sleep (on a 710), if (with the lid closed) I move the external mouse the laptop wakes up! I class this as a bug, certainly it doesn't happen on other laptops I have.

If that is the problem, I got around it by disabling the Wake for the mouse (in Device Manager), not really the best solution as I can't wake it with the mouse when the lid is open, but will have to do.

Cheers
