Keyboard and touchpad not working on Yoga C940

It seems to be stuck in this "tablet" mode where it thinks that the keyboard is flipped backwards even when it's flipped into laptop mode. Anyone know a fix?

Hi, thanks for the reply, but this issue isn't with Windows 10 tablet mode. Instead it is with the keyboard flipped backwards tablet mode which is the one responsible for disabling the keyboard and touchpad when entering this mode. They're 2 different set of tablet modes, so the Windows 10 tablet mode settings your reply had does nothing to fix the issue unfortunately. Still haven't been able to get the keyboard/touchpad working again :/

Check the yoga mode control (or whatever it is called) app is installed properly. If that does not work it could be the physical swich that determines which mode the laptop is in that has failed.

Please try this step instead:

  1. Hit CTRL + ALT + Up Arrow and your Windows desktop should return to landscape mode.
  2. Right click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  3. Choose a screen to fix if you have multiple monitors attached. 
  4. Select Landscape from the orientation menu.
  5. Click Apply (or OK)

Also, please check if there's an available Windows OS update for your machine.

@kradcliffe ok so this had more to do with it. Thanks to this I was able to find the YMC.exe service running in Task Manager and by disabling it the keyboard and touchpad actually work now. But if I enable it to get back tablet mode functionallity it just keeps the touchpad/keyboard disabled at all times unfortunately. Any thing I could try with that sensor externally? Even after a clean install it still doesn't work properly.

 

@Adriel_Lenovo issue isn't about orientation, it's about the keyboard/touchpad being disabled in proper laptop mode. Read what I wrote above for my recent findings.

Ok, I'm not sure where the switch for the orientation actually is. But that sounds like the issue.
