Juraj, it's ridiculous that customer service keeps sticking up for a faulty system, be it software, firmware, hardware or the service team and have the nerve to say that people who had their screens replaced only to have the same issue happen months later were 'helped by the solution'.. they were swindled out of a functioning 2 in 1 purchase, ran into non-stop troubles, paid for repairs, and ended up in the same place soon after.. we must have differing ideas of what 'help' means.

 

Lenovo is very aware this is happening, to many models of touchscreen, we've all tried every solution presented here (besides sending the screen in for replacement, for most of us, because we've already wasted enough money and have evidence that that doesn't stand the test of time anyhow), and all have the same story. This is a real problem, for us, and as it happens to many more, it's a problem for Lenovo.. so please cool it with the platitudes and passive aggressive responses, admin edits to posts suggesting the base this is happening to take action.. either be honest and say 'we don't know what is happening and don't care to find out' or that there is an actual long lasting solution to this problem and somebody is working on it..

 

When this happens on such a scale, how can Lenovo possibly say that they are not the root of the problem here? I feel scammed, I'm sure I'm not the only one.

To summarize:

-Many people report (not only on this forum) having identical symptoms on various Yoga models; the touch screen stops responding to touch input, often after an update

-As good as everybody tried all possible troubleshooting suggestions and some people even went further and tried other OS. None with success.

-Some people sent their device to Lenovo for repair. In all reported cases this turned to be only a temporary solution; the screen works again for a while and then stops working again.

-In my case, I sent my laptop to Lenovo for repair, after a couple of weeks I had no other choice than to have it send back to me unrepaired, since Lenovo could not even say how many weeks it could take to get the spare part they think would be required (I have a recent model). 

 

Conclusion: All possible remedies have been tried. Nobody obtained a solution of any kind.

 

So please stop turning in all possible senses to try to deny there is a structural issue.

 

What you could and should do Juraj, is compile the community input, send it to Lenovo and say "Hey guys, I think there is a real issue here, please look at the input, and check also in other communities what the similar reports are there".   

Lenovo needs to be made aware that this an issue, that it will cost them reputation, customers, and possible legal actions.

You can do that, that is what user communities are for. So use the community to do something valuable in stead of hiding behind weak arguments.

It does not make a difference. I have tried it all - every suggestion I could find. The touchscreen should be an obvious embarrassment for Lenovo. This is not a warranty type issue - it is a manufacturer flaw.  I like the notebook, but hate this terrible support on an issue that is prevalent everywhere.

2021 and this is still a Lenovo issue.

 

Sometimes doing a disable/enable of the wacom device under human interface devices through device manager works; but most times it does not. Have not been able to isolate what is different when it works from when it does not work. When it works it continues to work until the system is powered off (or sometimes just sleeps). Have gone so far as to do a complete reset and reinstall of the system and can't find a repeatable solution.

 

Has anyone achieved a repeatable fix?

Just to check if you symptoms collide with mine: -Discharge battery to low level (<20%) -Start charging from net power and continue working with relatively intensive tasks for at least 1 hours (this creates a lot of heat) -Check if touch screens responds after > 1 hours of heating up this way. I noticed on several occasions that the touch responded again, but also I can't reproduce it each time

My touchscreen was working until I updated 1 of these drivers on 8-10-2021.

Perhaps Lenovo can convey which driver to rollback?

I also tried the power down and took it down until it shut off. Then recharged 100%. Nothing. Lenovo needs to attend to this.

Today after 5 -6 times trying to disable and enable the macom device I waited until I had used the computer for about two hours while plugged in. Once again tried to disable and enable the macom device and it worked. Still don't know why.
