I've had my lenovo notebook for about 8 months now but recently I've noticed some problems with the mousepad. When I first got it, the mousepad worked well without any issues, but now, I need to press the left and right button a little harder than I used to just to get it to click. There are a few instances wherein a simple click does it, but most of the time, I need to press the pad with a lot more pressure than normal.
Is my mousepad broken? Or is this an issue with a driver ?
Any insight in this situation is much appreciated. Thank you very much!

Welcome to the Community Forums.
The way you described it sound more like a mechanical issue than software/ drivers.
To best isolate, try turning on the machine using the Novo button (item 5 page 10) to access the Recovery Menu.
Just to test, use the left and right key to check if the same issue (do not proceed further without the intention of OKR from the initial backup as this would reset to factory deleting your data).
Booting the machine from a live recovery image to check if hardware issue or drivers issue since using other boot media works outside Windows.
If the same failure occurs, then it would be best to call in technical support for in-warranty service.
