No one to share data on this ?

What do you battery report say (or HWInfo) rearding degradation, after how long time using the unit?
thanks

As someone who has had a c940 UHD 14' with apparently 0% battery wear (BatteryBar readings) for exactly your amount of time (bought it December 10th, 21 days) I think you should contact Lenovo directly about the issue. I haven't check with HWINFO, but BatteryBar has always given me pretty accurate readings on battery life across my laptops. Have you gamed hard on it while charging? Or charged from almost 0% to a 100% various times? I make sure to put mine at charge around 30% minimum and sometimes at 50% (lazy to wait the full 3 hours of charging while using) and leave it charging most of the time till 90-100%.

Hi liopag2
thanks for responding. No i have not left it it for more than the laptop reached 100 % charge and i have not run it down to 0 %. I dont game at all on this. I complained to lenovo support who told me they didnt consider this to be a problem until it decreased 20 % capacity.

I think there may be a faulty cell but lenovo will not recognize this, this is not ok for such a high end PC i think. But there is something weird going on, sometimes the wear level os reported to 10 %, spmetimes 4 %. Most often 10 % is reported when charge left is above 50 % and below 50 % its reported 3-4 %

Any odea what this is saying ?

May i ask why you send back your c940 ?

thanks

nolan

They might not consider it a problem, but it's definitely a problem for the consumer, especially when it seems that it's specific to your unit and not a general c940 issue. I'd suggest pressuring them for a return if you're still within the warranty date or issue a repair appointment to see if they can give you another battery/unit.

As for the fluctuating wear levels, I've never used HWInfo but I'd suggest you download and check out BatteryBar throws if it actually degraded or not just in case.

I originally returned my first c940 when I first saw it took 3 hours for a full charge (thought that was a unit issue), but a few days when I was actually going to do it, a not waking from sleep issue due to undervolting happened which led to me to exchange it for a new unit. That second new unit started giving me the exact same issues (figured all c940's have horrible charge rate) and the wake from sleep issue I was able to resolve on my own.

I contacted lenovo support several times explaining this to them, they refuse to cinsider this a flaw, which is ridiculous of course it can be right to loose 13 % capacity within 4 weeks on a new PC. Regarding charging time, i read some where fast charge only applies if the PC is turned off. I tested this myself and it seems to be the way fast charge works, if the PC is turned off charging time is app 2 hours, if turned on i guess 3 hours are correct

Hmm I see. Like I said before, give it a try by download BatteryBar to see if it says any battery degradation compared to HWInfo.
And yeah that's how charging works on the c940 (which is still BS to me anyways but oh well).

Re:Lenovo C940 battery degradation 7 % after 21 days

hi guys,

I have mine (C940 14 FHD) since the end of November, and basically after 3 months of use, mostly on battery conservation mode in Vantage, I see 6% degradation (60 design vs 56540 now). Keep in mind first 2-3 percent degradation happened in the very first 2-3 weeks.

I assume if i hadn't use conservation mode, the figures would be much much worse.

Bought mine about mid December and now on March I've been reading 0.4-0.8 % battery degradation but it sometimes goes away and registers it at 0% degradation. Have the 14 UHD model and do slight to moderate gaming while on conservation mode.
