Re: Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 13 - Wakes up when lid is closed when power button is pressed

Woke up today and saw that my Yoga had turned on during the night even though it was closed, so this isn't just the power button getting pressed.

Wow, that is bad. Mine has not done this since the day I made this thread, so I have pretty much forgotten about it. I would suggest checking power options to see if you tweaked around with anything. I know people who tweaked with low power states for fan noise, cooling methods under power management, etc.

My bro's sony used to do this on Vista. He found that under device manager > network adapters > your network card > options > power management, there was an option for allowing the device to wakeup the computer. Maybe check that out.

This was the first thing I did, and I made sure that none of my devices had it checked.  It still wakes up.

Okay, now that I see one of the Lenovo's guys have fixed the infamous fan noise problem (I couldn't honestly care less about the fan noise, its perfectly fine..), I am gonna have to bump this thread back to life. Even after newest update, I can still wake the laptop up by pressing power button when lid is closed. This is an embarassingly bad design on a rather wonderful machine. I have to be extra cautious to not press the power button when placing it inside the case.

Please let us know if this is fixable by a software update, or if its just a design flaw. I will continue to use this either way, but it will just be another day when the button gets knocked up and the laptop heats itself to death.

I have the exact same issue.  The power button is located at the front edge of the laptop, where it's extremely easy to be accidentally bumped when inserted in a laptop bag and turned on.  In my opinion, the power button should be disabled when the lid is closed.  Are there any software updates to fix this soon?  This is a very annoying problem - otherwise the Yoga 13 has been great!

THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!  But, I found a solution.  It was the mouse that was waking it up, even though I had the setting for allowing it to wake unchecked.  Apparently I need to uncheck the keyboard as well, even though that makes no sense.  What makes even less sense is that even though that keeps the mouse from being able to wake it, the keyboard still can!  So, it's actually working how I want, even though the settings are messed up.

Mine also has this issue. I couldn't figure out where the keyboard and mouse power settings are but anyways this is a design issue that needs to be fixed. There are many such small software quirks that make this laptop from achieving it full potential.

So far, I have touchpad that registers some swipes but doesn't other times and touchscreen that works for the most part but I can't close apps for 2 swipes. Lot of little quirks like this.

I guess we are getting all these issues fixed for second gen users :)
