Lenovo Solution Center - Hardware Scan - invalid result for PCI test

2015-12-17, 23:18 PM

Hi,

I just updated the Lenovo Solution Center installed on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro.

I then performed a hardware scan and got the following result :no issue (green light and the following message : WMB008000-DK7X5L ) and at the same time a PCI / PCI-e Test showed as invalid (white cross on a red background).

So what do I have to do ? It looks like the software tells me "no problem" and at the same time highlights an issue at the level of the PCI.

Thanks in advance for your help

Kind regards

Philippe

Why use a software that lenovo advised to uninstall it due to security problems?

Lenovo has since released an updated version of the Lenovo Solution Center that corrects this problem.

I've encountered the same problem with the latest version of Lenovo Solution Center (LSC) and the Yoga 900.  Although the complete LSC test passed there was an invalid error for the PCI test.  In viewing the test logs I noted that the PCI device count was 0.  That lead me to believe the invalid statement was due to the LSC program not detecting any PCI devices to test.   If your overall test result was Passed then I wouldn't worry about it.

You're welcome.

I wouldn't call the problem a false positive, but more like a labeling error.  Had the Lenovo Solution Center test simply outputted an NA or Not Applicable result instead of INVALID it would have eliminate a lot of confusion and worry.
