Lenovo Vantage Battery Smart Option Missing Error

2021-02-13, 18:37 PM

The latest version of Lenovo Vantage application on my laptop (Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 14IIL05) has caused a serious issue for me. About a month ago, when I bought my laptop, I activated the Power Smart battery option that allows to not charge the battery at 100% when you use the laptop on AC power in order to not ruin the battery. So the battery stays at 57% maximum. The problem is that (I think it updated in the background) the newest version of Vantage misses this option so I cannot deactivate it! I desperately need the full charge because my university started recently and I have to move a lot. There also doesn't seem to be any option for me to change my battery optimization (Intelligent cooling, power saving, best performance). I cannot seem to see my battery details too. Also, I have been logged out of Lenovo Vantage and I can't seem to log back in. Tons of issues here and I am barely managing myself especially the fact that I can't charge my battery to 100%.

Please help me solve this as soon as possible.

Thanks in advance.

The screenshots below might help.

The battery percentage goes till 57% maximum. Never 100%.

The battery details never load. It just keeps buffering.

As you can see the setting to disable the Battery smart option is missing.

As you can see, clicking login brings up the login window which never loads and keeps buffering.

Hi mushyPeach

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Try uninstalling Vantage and run Windows Update and apply all changes.

Soon as all updates for Windows are done then restart and install Vantage from Microsoft Store.

I hope this helps.

Update us back as soon as convenient.

Regards,

Re:Lenovo Vantage Battery Smart Option Missing Error

Hi there.

I did as you said and uninstalled my Lenovo Vantage app. Then I updated my windows, restarted and downloaded the app from Microsoft Store. One of the options from Power settings disappeared but there isn't anything else that got added. I still can't solve my problem of disabling the Battery Smart settings from Vantage. Also, I noticed that I also can't disable the privacy mode of my camera from both the Vantage app as well as the Vantage toolbar. Also, the login option changed to "Unlock Exclusives" which, after clicking, still keeps buffering as before. Basically everything is the same as before. Please let me know what I can do now.

Thanks in advance.

The screenshots below might help.

Unlock Exclusives which, when clicked, still buffers and never loads.

Battery details still buffers and stuck at 60%.

Disabling camera privacy mode buffers and never lets me do it.

The mouse cursor can't be seen in the screenshot but when I hover my mouse cursor on it, the cursor changes and I can't disable it.

And as a result, my webcam is useless right now and I am struggling in my online meetings.

Please help me fix this. I am practically suffering even though I just bought this laptop.

Hi,

It worked! Thanks a lot. You saved my life. Also, as soon as I fixed the issue, Vantage told me to install the "System Interface Foundation V2 Device". Do I need to install it again since last time it seems to have been causing the issue?

Thanks.
