Lenovo Y520-15IKBN Windows 10 Persistent Hanging after Logging In; Windows App Problem?

I have A Lenovo y520-15IKBN laptop that is relatively new. I bought it in February 2019. There are two issues that persist right from the start :

1) Windows 10 being unresponsive but I am still able to move the cursor (but no clicking). This issue auto-resolves after like 20-30 seconds.

2) Windows 10 being unresponsive totally and nothing I can do but forcing shutdown.

How to Reproduce The Issue
Issue No.1 : Simply by shutting down and booting. Right after logging in and waiting for a while (5-7 minutes), this issue happens. The issue resolves itself after about 30 seconds. After the initial hanging, there will be no other hanging of the same kind. For additional note, the issue somehow responds to the closing of the lid so it will sleep immeadiately. Also, the issue never happens when I play games.
Issue No.2 : Happens randomly but not in a frequent manner such as Issue No.1. It never happens when I play games as well. It happens when I am navigating around windows 10 (like windows explorer, browsing, etc). Being total unresponsive, closing the lid won't do anything.

Actual Footage of The Issue
Issue No. 1
In this video, the freezing/hanging part happens for about 50 seconds. 00:26-01:16.

Additional Info:
1. BIOS version - 4KCN40WW. I once tried to update the BIOS to 4KCN45WW hoping that it will resolve the issue. However, it became worse. My online games got connection issue, my fan sped up most of the time, the laptop temperature became super high, the Issue No.2-type hanging became more frequent.  So I flashed back to the 4KCN40WW, as it is more stable and it is the BIOS version that was already installed when I bought the laptop.

2. Microsoft Troubleshooter said the hanging is caused by windows store apps but it cant seem to determine which app causes it.

3. I have not done any kind of recovery/fresh start yet. I am still hoping to resolve this issue without doing that or by bringing the laptop to the service center. Just leave that for the very-very last resort.

I am hoping to hear from yall. halp.

Re: Lenovo Y520-15IKBN Windows 10 Persistent Hanging after Logging In; Windows App Problem?

Hi Wuflenso,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Here are tips to make Windows faster that you can try.

Ensuring that non essential apps in start up are disabled, make sure that there is no pending downloads and installation running in the background.

Noticing how you describe the events, proceed with turning off fast start up and see if this helps.

Else create another local user account not tied with any Microsoft account and its component then disable non essential start up and turn off fast start up.  This local account should not synch with any cloud drives and other features.

Update us how it goes.

Regards
