Lenovo YOGA 720-15IKB Battery Capacity

2018-03-27, 10:08 AM

Dear Community,

I just bought my Lenovo Yoga 720-15IKB last February 2018, i had a suspicion about my battery condition, i just run an diagnostic using lSC lite provided by Lenovo with this result. I need to ask about the battery capacities, is it normal my notebook designated capacity with 6345 MAH, but my battery full charge capacity deducted to 6075 MAH. I use this notebook without charging while using and always charge the battery while the system told me to charge my battery and charge to 100% , than unplugged the charger.

Thank You

Hi Kennydp,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

There are several factors to be considered on the drop of the full charge capacity of battery.

Yours shows 4.26% on the first month so approximately 51.21% in a year which can be considered normal with the factors come into play such as discharge rates and usage.

Contrary to older practice, it would be better to use the machine plugged in rather than just with battery alone with proper cooling. This switches the power to direct ac instead of consuming the battery life cycle thus preserving it. This newer technology is incorporated in the battery firmware and machine. Thus, is a better practice specially in heavy usage.

Here are also tips to prolong the battery life.

If however that the average percentage value of battery decline seems to to increase drastically, then best to inform technical support as soon as possible. Take note that battery warranty usually holds one year as a consumable part so monitoring it like you are doing can help.

Hope this helps answer your query.

Regards
