Lenovo Yoga 2 13 won’t turn on

Hi,

This morning I turned my laptop on and it was installing some updates. From the corner of my eye - I saw the screen turning black and the laptop shutting off. I immediately tried turning it back on, but it stayed dead.

When I try and turn it on, the power light and battery light turn on for a few seconds, but then turn off again.

It’s fully charged and I also tried the Recovery button. However, that gives the same result as just turning the laptop on.

Please help! Thanks in advance.

Re: Lenovo Yoga 2 13 won’t turn on

Hello xElkeC

Thanks for using the Lenovo forums.

Try a static discharge for this, it may help to resolve the issue or at least get rid of any built up static on the motherboard.

(If the battery is internal, please just skip the remove/replace battery steps.)
1. Turn the unit off
2. Remove the battery and the Mains adapter
3. Press and hold the front power button for 30 seconds
4. Replace the battery and the Mains adapter
5. Turn the unit on as normal

Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

Re: Lenovo Yoga 2 13 won’t turn on

I am having exact same issue today, my Yoga 2 Pro has been working for me for 3+ years utill I was trying to restore my windows 10 to default yesterday. I followed similar steps by disconnecting the internal battery and Bios backup coin battery, but nothing help so far. I found quite a few reports on internet and people complained similar problems with Yoga series from lenovo, what is the root case of this problem? also, I feel the laptop is still in pretty good condition, but the warranty is pasted, what's the other repair option we can have?
