Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro

2018-08-06, 17:02 PM

I have the above Lenovo laptop.  It has been a great tool but the camera fizzled out and is no longer useful.  I especially liked the Veriface face recognition feature for security/sign on.

I attempted to find some kind of support from Lenovo to see if there is anyone who can replace/fix the camera and ended up with a "sorry" but our support is having difficulties message and a phone number.

Has anyone else experienced their camera dying and had it replaced?  Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi jblackfish,

Are you using Windows 8.1 or Windows 10?

Did you tried to reinstall both camera drivers from Lenovo Support Site?
Bison Camera Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro

AND

Liteon Camera Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro

OR

As the last alternative is worth trying to use Lenovo OneKey Recovery (System Recovery) through novo button.

I appreciate your trying but I'm not sure how much help the link you provided is for me.  I went to the link and found two cameras in the parts section:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-2-pro-lenovo/80ay/parts?linkTrack=Caps%3ABody_SearchProduct&searchType=4&keyWordSearch=Yoga%25202%2520Pro%2520Laptop%2520%2528Lenovo%2529%2520-%2520Type%252080AY

IF I knew what to do with one, I don't see any way to buy one of them - the "buy" icon is grayed out...and there's no price that I can see.  How much are they?  If I did buy one then I'd have to hope I could find a good youtube video to show me how to do it.  Does Lenovo provide instructions as to how to install one?

Thanks,

John
