Lenovo Yoga 2 doesn't get past Lenovo splash screen

2016-10-01, 19:07 PM

My son accidentally got his leg caught in the cord of his laptop when he got up and the laptop  fell approximately 2 feet to the tile floor.  It boots up but stays on the Lenovo splash screen.  If I go into the BIOS and select System Recovery it goes through the "Loading files..." process, the Lenovo splash screen appears with the dots going in a circle but, then after about 2 minutes of that the screen just goes black.  If I tilt the screen forward or back I can tell it is still backlit just with nothing to display.  Anything we can try?

Hi there, Krista           -

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today

1- Remove the battery and the charger >> Hold on the power button for 20 seconds.

2-Connect the charger only >> Hold on the power button for 10 seconds.

3-Try to turn on the laptop.

Just to verify, do you have any external peripherals connected to the PC (eg. USB Flashdrive, 3TB external drive, etc.)?

Update us how it goes.

Regards,

Thanks Shashi - Unfortunately my screwdrivers in that star shape are not small enough for the screws on the laptop.  :/   Will respond when I am able to try your steps.
