Mfg date for this laptop is Oct 2014, Windows 10 OS. About a month back battery power was about 25% when I plugged charger in. the screen became brighter, means it was charging. Suddenly the computer shut down and though charger was connected, the charging light went off. Thereafter the computer did not turn on either with charger or without. Even the charging light did not turn on. Changed the charger as well as cable but neither charging indicator turned on nor computer turned on. It was like battery fully down and charger not connected. Took it to Lenovo service center and they made it alright and told me that they had disconnected the battery and reconnected. The power left in the battery was still 25%. Exactly same thing happened once again yesterday and I disconnected the battery and reconnected and it worked. Since it happened second time, whatever the problem may be, was not solved permanently by above procedure. Can someone help what could be the reason and how to solve it permanently?

Hi , Pravinbi -
Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.
Based from your findings, it's possible that:
- The battery circuit inside is not working to unload the charge, or
- One of the battery cells have already reached its life span
- the chip that handles how the battery gets charge/discharge and checks the charge level of each battery cell (both are controlled by a firmware) is malfunctioning.
Did you try updating the BIOS.
Update us how it goes.

Thanks Shashi. I am travelling right now. When back home, will update BIOS and let you know how it goes.
Circuit related problems and battery cell related problems should have been identified by Lenovo service center in Chennai, but unfortunately he mentioned they had never handled this model and therefore has no experience!
