I am trying to upgrade my yoga 500-14IBD 's RAM from the pre-installed 4gb RAM to a new 8gb RAM(Corsair CMXS8GX3M1A1600C10 8GB Vengeance 1600MHz CL10 DDR3 - link).
However, when I turn my laptop on it makes 3 short beeps followed by 3 short beeps followed by 1 short beep. I've looked it up and I think it means that there is a ram/motherboard issue, however I thought my new RAM is compatible. I have tried re-inserting it and that hasn't changed anything. Additionally, I have re-inserted my old RAM and my laptop works as usual.
Any help would be really appreciated!

Hello and welcome,
I'm having a hard time finding the base spec for your laptop, but everything I see online says that you need DDR3L (1.35V) RAM. The RAM you linked is DDR3 (1.5V). That's likely the problem.

Thank you for your response!
I hadn't noticed that, thanks for spotting it.
I have ordered another RAM which says that it is 1.35V, so hopefully that will fix the problem.
Will let you know the results tomorrow!
