Lenovo Yoga-500 battery is "plugged in, charging" but battery level stays the same

2016-12-11, 16:19 PM

Hi!

My Yoga 500-15ISK Laptop seems to have a battery issue. For some time now, whenever I plug my laptop into the AC power, I get this message, e.g. "(% charge) available, (plugged in, charging)", however for some reason, the battery level actually stays the same even after a significant amount of time of being plugged in to the AC supply. Moreover, the battery icon initially shows the animated one which indicates charging is indeed in progress, then after a few moments, it will freeze on the estimated level.

Before this, my laptop's battery usually charges relatively quickly. Also, I have not turned on the Conservation Mode so it must charged up beyond 50-60% especially if I leave it plugged in overnight. This issue is really bewildering me right now.

Any comments or suggestions on how I can address this issue?
Thanks!

Other notes re my laptop:
It's been around 10 months since I've bought it and I have encountered this issue only a few days ago.
I have no other issues with it.

Hi ,

It sounds to me that the charger may be faulty, If you contact Lenovo support they will be able to send you out a new charger and if it bturns out to not be that then the fault is reported and you will nbe able to get the unit repaired.
