You can try to connect the laptop to any external monitor to check if the issue is the display.
To isolate the issue from non powering machine against non posting (power on self test), try the power checkout guide here (page 21-22) including the operational charging test. This would allow us to see if the point of failure is from the ac charger or other parts.
Check on the status indicator as reference while plugged in (from time that it was turned off until an ac charger is connected)
If you have a covered warranty, then best to call in technical support specially if there is no response from tapping the caps lock (should turn on/off the led on the key).
Update us how things go.

The hardware manual would show you an HDMI port next to the internet cable port on the right side to connect to a tv. This should allow you to test is the issue is just the lcd display. If same problem then it is best to call technical support or have it check it with a local service center for out of warranty laptop.

Did you try connecting it to an external monitor yet?
Model number of LCD panel are on the sticker (at the back of the panel) and OEM part number can also be checked here in the parts look up tool . Page 88 of the hardware manual FRU list can also help to compare the details along with the guide.
If you do not have the tools and skills for the hardware, I suggest you call in tech support or visit your nearest local service center.
