Welcome to the Community Forums.
Software update should not interfere with power on self test and we can isolate it better by fully shutting down the machine and using the Novo button (item 2 page 11) to power on.
Novo menu should appear and allow access to the BIOS setup option. This way we know that the hardware is ok and it just be a booting issue related to the software.
Update us how it goes.

Thanks for your quick response, unfortunately pressing in the Novo button had no result the machine would not power on in BIOS mode , I am thinking the issue it is either a battery, power supply or possibly the motherboard that has died.
I pressed in the Novo button with a paperclip in several ways slowly holding it in, quickly and with power adaptor plugged in and out but sadly no response from the PC.
Any other ideas ??

You can check if the charger is working ok (page 21-22), then we should expect that the power indicator led light up. This isolates the issue from the charger then the dc in port further.
If same no power issue and no led response with a known working charger, I suggest to have it checked with any local service center to investigate further internally.
