Lenovo Yoga 7 keyboard

I recently ordered a Yoga 710 11 inch 2-in-1. I just read that the keyboard has been changed so that where the "SHIFT" key has been for 100 years on the right side of the keyboard, the page up and down keys  now are and it's extremely difficult to type? Is this true that they keys were moved to a non-standard configuration different from all computer keyboards?

Re: Lenovo Yoga 7 keyboard

Hi CGB1471 ,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

As same from all other reviews : "the right shift key has been shrunk down to fit" .

Similar discussion here and here about the same topic as users have success on using keytweak to remap it as a workaround specially for those that was accustomed using the right shift for speed typing.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards

Thanks-Read about the workaround. Agree with the one poster who wrote that this should NOT be required of a new computer.

Re: Lenovo Yoga 7 keyboard

Hi CGB1471 ,

Greetings.

As per your initial inquiry , such discussions confirm how the right shift key was design issue that was not favorable much for fast typers as we're accustomed our fingers to have that key on its expected place .

Seems this does answer your query and the remapping (suggested by fellow users alike) are for those that have ordered it and yet would like to keep the other features that the machine offers otherwise.

You may also leave your comment on the main thread as such are being reviewed for future Yoga developments.

Community feedbacks are greatly appreciated.

Regards

Re: Lenovo Yoga 7 keyboard

Not sure what "not favorable much" means but the QWERTY keyboard has been in existence since the 1870s in many countries -- and then as a computer keyboard. You can't change that just to cram more junk in. This new keyboard actually slows down typing. MINE IS GOING BACK. ALL CAPS USING LEFT-HAND shift key. Mine is going back.

Re: Lenovo Yoga 7 keyboard

Hi CGB1471  ,

Greetings.

As I am not part of doing the designs (only to attend to your question on your post), if your needs do not fit the machine then getting a different one would be a good idea. Early reviews and forums queries can help on choosing.

Best luck to all your endeavors.

Regards
