Lenovo Yoga 700 (14), ghost touches

Have a problem with what might be ghost touches on the touch screen.

When playing fullscreen movies it sometimes randomly pauses and/or resumes as if someone touched the screen (or pressed space). Not always, just sometimes. I have found no pattern. Not tied to a specific application as far as I can tell.

Also, once earlier today, the display went bananas with crazy ghost touches everywhere all over the screen when i switched to tablet mode. The keyboard had stopped working as well, and I was forced to reboot for it to stop clicking everywhere.

Video of how it was like:

I look around and see lots of people having similar problems, but no answers as to what the hell is going on with the yoga touch displays. Anyone know?

Model (i think): 80QD0042MX

Monitor hardware id: MONITOR\LGD047A

Touchscreen hardware ids:

All drivers appear to be up to date.

Since this was an LG panel, I have now attempted to run the firmware update from

Perhaps it will make a difference. Will have to wait a bit to find out as I'm not able to trigger the ghost touches at will.

Re: Lenovo Yoga 700 (14), ghost touches

It has been confirmed the solution you referenced for ghost touches on the Yoga 3 14 will also resolve ghost touches experienced on Yoga 700 14 laptops. Lenovo is in the process of publishing the LCD firmware update specifically for Yoga 700 14.

I will post again when the update becomes available for Yoga 700 14.

EDIT: Moved discussion from TP Yoga to Lenovo Yoga category.

Thank you,

Thanks for the reply!

Since installing the firmware update I linked ( for the panel, I have yet to experience any more problems with it. It does indeed seem to be working. Smiley Happy

People who are experiencing the problem now should install that one if they do not want to wait for a dedicated download/version for the Yoga 700 14.

Re: Lenovo Yoga 700 (14), ghost touches

Hello Amy,

I'd like to know if the LCD driver update if finally available for Yoga 700-14ISK?

Myself and some of my colleagues are frequently experiencing the ghost touch issue, so we hope to get it fixed as soon as possible.

This morning I updated most of the drivers but I'm not sure it will solve the problem as far as there was not driver update for the screen.

Thank you.

Can you please tell us an information about when software patch for yoga 700 14ISK will be released? It's been two months and it seems that nothing is happening in that case

Re: Lenovo Yoga 700 (14), ghost touches

My Lenovo 700 141sk has experienced ghost touches and flashes.  I do not have an LG monitor so the firmware update does not apply.  I have made 3 calls to support.  and still no resolution.  One suggested re-setting the computer but the NOVO button doesn't work.  I have had this computer for 3 mos and have spent more time trying to get it to work than I have spent time being productive with it.  How can I return this for a new computer?

Re: Lenovo Yoga 700 (14), ghost touches

Hello. I have the same problem of ghost touches on the screen of my Yoga 710-14IKB Laptop, but the monitor is not LG, so it does not apply the published firmware update for LG monitors. Any solution to this problem?

Re: Lenovo Yoga 700 (14), ghost touches

I have been dealing with this problem since a year now. I have tried updating my bios but no respite.. It has become excruciatingly difficult to work with this laptop now. I must say I am disappointed with Yoga - you dont expect this quality from Lenovo. This is first Lenovo laptop in my familly. Everybody in my family uses Dell and I dared to try Lenovo! royally disappointed.

Can somebody in Lenovo team help me get over this nagging problem?
