Lenovo Yoga 710 - Inactive scrolling not working with trackpad

2017-02-18, 19:29 PM

I got my Lenovo Yoga 710 in the summer of 2016, and everything works great except for the inactive scrolling. The inactive scrolling only works when I have an external mouse attached to my laptop, in which I am able to type in one window while scrolling in another window that's inactive. However, the inactive scrolling doesn't seem to work when I am using my trackpad and not an external mouse. I have updated all of my drivers, but I just don't understand why the feature would work only with the external mouse and not the trackpad. It is rather inconvenient to carry around an external mouse when the trackpad is supposed to do the job. I am coming from a Macbook Pro and I really miss the inactive scrolling that it provided.  I would really appreciate it if someone could please help me. Thanks!

P.S. I do not have any third party software installed and the inactive scrolling feature is "enabled."

Hello lenovopower,

Thanks for joining the forums.

This may be as simple as updating a couple of drivers perhaps, try to find your Chipset and Touchpad drivers on the Lenovo support site.

Make sure to reboot after the update.

If that doesn`t work, this may not be a feature of the touchpad by the sounds of things.

Has this been happening since the day of purchase? or is it a more recent issue?

Hope this help you, let us know how you get on
