Lenovo Yoga 720 Screen Panel slightly lifted

2019-07-28, 20:11 PM

The left side of my laptop screen has light leaking out of it. The screen panel seems to have slightly come out of the chassis - like less than 1mm. I'm able to press it back, but the moment I lift my thumb it goes back to sticking slightly out. Any suggestions as to how I can fix it would be appreciated.

Good day.

If your laptop is still undr warranty, I'd suggest reaching out to Service before doing anything else.

Regards.

Thanks Nate, but my device is already out of warranty. Any other recommendations?

You might still want to contact Support to discuss the issue.

One thing they *might* be able to do is suggest an authorized servicer who could take a look and offer advice or service. There could be a cost involved, but the only way to know would be to contact them.

Regards.

What type of 720 is it?

For my 730 15IWL there is a hardware pdf manual (yoga730-15iwl_hmm_201809.pdf ) that explains hardware in more detail. There should be a 720 manual on the site here as well. It might help you understand how it is seated in the chassis.

Maybe a threaded hole has been stripped, you never know.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have the 13 inch version of the laptop. I had a look at the repair manual and a few tutorials on how to remove the lcd panel, but it seems that it is attached by glue, which would make the removal more destructive. I'm not too sure how to go about doing this. Any advice will be appreciated.
