Lenovo Yoga 730-13IWL touch screen not working

2019-10-01, 16:55 PM

My laptop's touchscreen suddenly stopped working after some lenovo vantage updates/windows updates. I'm on Windows 10 build 18362.

My pen input was working properly until I followed the steps from this thread and after installing the indicated file, not only that my touchscreen is not working, but it also messed up my pen input. My monitor is 3840x2160 and the hardware id is AUO232B.

Hi dany1798!

Welcome to the Lenovo Forum!

Please try the steps below:

1. Access the BIOS page on the laptop, here's https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht500216?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x9m6 how to access it.

2. Once the BIOS page is up, press the Fn+F9 keys or the F9 key to load default settings and choose yes.

3. Still in the BIOS page, press the Fn+F10 keys or the F10 key to exit saving changes and choose yes. The laptop will restart automatically and check the touchscreen again.

Regards,

The touchscreen is still not working, since the pen was working before I installed the wrong firmware, i don't think that the issue is hardware related. Can you at least give me the proper firmware for the touchscreen/ pen input?

My touchscreen has quit working, but the pen does work.

I tried the bios suggestion.  F9 ok and then f10 ok.

That doesn't work.

I bought the 730-15 specifically for the touch screen, it worked for a couple of years but now has quit.  Disappointing.

Probably a hardware issue and it'll cost me more money.

Soon after I bought the 730 I had a chance from Lonovo to exchange it for another Lenovo at an even $100 higher price.  I declined to since I liked the computer.

EXCEPT for the ridiculous sharp edge on the front where my wrists rest.  It hurts after a few minutes.  That sharp bend in the aluminum looks good, but it's a poor design for ergonomics.

Same problem here. I have tried different solutions based on forums but nothing worked.

Spend a lot of time on this already. A fix is needed ASAP. Sent an email to Lenovo's support. Looking forward to hear from them.

It is an expensive laptop with touch screen functionality which can't be used anymore.

I decided to send mine into service and they fixed it. Seems like this model has a big problem with the hinge cable getting snapped when you turn the screen 180 degrees. Your only hope is to send it for repairs.
