Lenovo Yoga 730 15" with NVIDIA - Temperature during game high

When playing Magic The Gathering Arena, the CPU hits the temperature limits and starts throttling. Room temperature is ~ 22 degrees Celsius. Is this normal? Is it the way the system should work?

New laptop and I would like to know before damaging it.

Running linux, find sensor temperatures below please (game active).

Adapter: ISA adapter
Package id 0:  +98.0°C  (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 0:        +98.0°C  (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 1:        +81.0°C  (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 2:        +81.0°C  (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)
Core 3:        +89.0°C  (high = +100.0°C, crit = +100.0°C)

Adapter: Virtual device
temp1:        +70.0°C

Adapter: Virtual device
temp1:        +52.0°C

Thank you in advance!

Re: Lenovo Yoga 730 15" with NVIDIA - Temperature during game high

Hi evdvelde!

Welcome to the Community Forums.

Having almost a 100°C temperature is not normal. Are you using the laptop while the AC adapter is plugged in? Check the power performance and play with the settings (balance, high performance, etc.). Make sure all updates are installed as well (windows update, graphics driver).
