Re: Lenovo Yoga 730 - battery discharging quickly problem

Don't follow the solutions provided.  My issue was a hardware one.  By going to UMA rather then switchable graphics, you are saying you only want to use Intel's integrated graphics.  If this was your solution, update the Nvidia drivers, verify the correct ones are installed, and view the settings of the Nvidia drivers.  As well, performing heavy tasks on your computer such as picture/video editing and gaming will use your battery faster.

I followed the solution of updating the 1050 driver. First try updating via device manager. After that update thru the geforce experience application. Before updating it showed me 2 hrs of estimated time. After updates, 5hrs +.

You need to manually update the driver. Open up device manager, under display adapters right click the geforce card and update it (search online option). After that open up GeForce experience from the taskbar to see if got any other updates.

Also, you should go onto the Nvidia website, and download the appropriate drivers and GeForce experience application

The thing that brought me from 4-5h to 8-10 hours was disabling the touchscreen inside the device manager.
If I can do all the things with the active pen only, this will work for me.

Re:Lenovo Yoga 730 - battery discharging quickly problem

Hello! I bought this Lenovo yoga 730 at Best Buy a year ago with 8th gen core I5, nothing fancy. The employee advised me that the battery life on this laptop was up to 11 hours on a single charge. It has come to my attention that this isn't the case. Surprised and amazed, I bought it. 850 dollars gone. A year goes by, I'm doing schoolwork with a fully charged battery, and it says I only have 3 hours left, and I am an hour into my day. I ignore it because of my experience with an computer and bad batteries in general, and I continue doing work. Come school, I finally realize that it wasn't the case.

For the money I paid, I expected at least 9 hours of battery life, and upon viewing Lenovo yoga 730 forums concerning battery discharge issues, it would appear that there is a known problem, and it is not just my computer. I have attempted to contact Lenovo customer service, but I have gotten no response. I am 2 weeks into my school year, and I need a functioning computer. Please help.

Sincerely, Cormac O'M

The picture attached is the battery life right off of the charger
