The same problem at a new Lenovo Slim7i ? See the topic Yoga slim 7i screen flickering with new intel display driver update at this forum. Same HW (I5 or I7 1045G and Intel Iris Plus graphic). Ooops, what wrongs with you, Lenovo...or Intel ?

Intel are in a mess right now and Lenovo are just Lenovo. They don't give a rat's arse!

The new model is basically a slightly upgraded C940 so of course it's going to have all the many bugs from the previous model. Already seen people complaining about sleep issues and docking stations not working. Fancy that!

I bought the C940 and the Macbook Pro 16" within weeks of each other. I use the Bootcamped Mac all the time and it's utterly brilliant. the C940 sits in it's pouch and loses power in the battery even when it's switched off.

Lenovo Yoga C940 abnormal display and screen flickering

2020-12-18, 16:34 PM

I loved my Yoga C940 till the crazy display issues happened. It was not too bad initially but then got longer and longer and went black sometimes. I feel so frustrated.

I have tried all the methods mentioned, reset, driver and bios. nothing worked. I called, no one called back yet. Unbelieve with the money we paid, we got such lousy laptop.

Someone from Lenovo please fix this issues.

I noticed that the abnormal display issues only happened when I used google chrome. I uninstalled google chrome and reinstalled. Same thing. It's totally fine if I am on microsoft edge.  Wonder if this community can test from your end.

So disappointed with this.

Re:Lenovo Yoga C940 screen glitches, flickering, flashing

2020-12-19, 0:10 AM

After my clean install of the latest stabile driver, i just saw the same issue again. Taskbar replication and flicker....

I spoke with Microsoft today. They have nothing to do.. In forum Bertil had a long conversation with Intel Moderators but they also told us that they cant do anything since this problem is specific for this device so they also said that Lenovo must be the one to handle this.

I think this is the end for my self effort to solve this. I payed a premium price for this device and its their job to handle it. From now on, they will try to make this device work as it should, instead of me.

Yeah.. They can replace the screen or motherboard or replace the machine completely. Like  some of us had this happen. I know and i do not care.  If they cant fix this 3 times of repair process, i can get a full refund in my country's law.

I have time.... :) I've learned to wait in my life experiences already :) Trust me and sorry Lenovo.... You just ignoring your own forum and your sad customers. So i think now its time to change the way of solving this issue.

I will not leave the topic. I will be here with you guys and i will inform you about the process time to time.

Good luck to all.

I've got the Lenovo Yoga C940 as well. And I'm having the EXACT same issue as described in this thread.

I'm very disappointed that this thread is now 12 pages long and nobody from Lenovo has provided any solution.

My company buys about 500 Lenovo laptops every year. On Monday I am going to speak to my IT Purchasing Manager and inform him of my horrible experience with this laptop. Perhaps my company will switch to DELL starting next year!

I myself have used gpedit to lock my windows on 1909 (win10 pro) so i dont get any upgrade to 20H1 or 20H2. This is just plain silly from Lenovos side.

AskNoMore, you tried beta 9025 with the clean install again?

Overall i really like this machine. the heat and fan issues is there, but ive got used to it.

But i always like to be up2date with the latest software........

I can wait........as others i paid a premium price for this machine. Think any refunds etc is out of the question since this is a software compatibility issue that affects hardware acceleration, and not hardware itself.

Legal case is another option.......

I tried to get in contact with ALL mods in this forum without ONE reply,.....Lenovo you are a joke.

(except the guy from customerservice Norway i spoke with and atleast gave me some feedack)

Lenovo series 2019/2020 is a joke.

LENOVO brand NEVER again.

Re:Lenovo Yoga C940 screen glitches, flickering, flashing

Bertil no i didnt. Because this 9025 BETA was the most stabile one but it only solved taskbar replication issue. Flickering was still there and i could see it very clearly when i opened a black webpage or a window in dark mode. So this was also not a solution. Besides i would like to use the most stabile drivers and stay up to date as well.

More important, i would like to see some respect from a company which sells a "premium" device for my well paid money.

If they do not show this respect to us, they will have to face with the results.

For these reasons, trying to handle this issue is over on my side. Now they are the one who will work for it. If they dont, then they will give me my money back. No problem for me actually :)

Keep ignoring Lenovo. I am OK with that. :)
