Lenovo ideapad 710s black screen! Help!

I pressed power on and the power led at the side is lighted up but the usual lenovo logo doesnt appear whatsoever nor the start up screen asking for my password. The whole screen just remains black and I have no idea what to do. My laptop is only less than 2 months old.. please help!! Really sad abt this since the laptop is so new ):

Re: Lenovo ideapad 710s black screen! Help!

Hi, Sotong –

Thank you for writing in to the Lenovo Forum - happy to have you here today.

You can also start by flushing out all static, remove AC adaptor and hold down power button for about 15 seconds.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo ideapad 710s black screen! Help!

Hi, alr took out power adaptor and press off button for very long but that will only serve to shut down the laptop right?

can I ask how to flush out the static? Are there any other ways to do that?

Re: Lenovo ideapad 710s black screen! Help!

Hold power button down to turn laptop off.
Unplug, and remove battery.
Hold down power button for ~ 30 seconds.
Re-plug, without battery and see if you can boot.

Update us how it goes.

Re: Lenovo ideapad 710s black screen! Help!

It would help reseating the hard drive & memory modules (remove and check the contacts and place it back in).

Re: Lenovo ideapad 710s black screen! Help!

I have the same problem.

I tried to unplug the battery, to reset the memory and it don't works.

I noticed that my laptop had started once when the screen was in a certain angulation. I failed to replicate this startup.

Can you help me ?

Re: Lenovo ideapad 710s black screen! Help!

I ended up sending my laptop for servicing. they said the LED screen was spoilt and that's why although I had no idea why since I did not do anyth violent or rough to it. So anyway after servicing the laptop it was fine.
