Is it possible to put a short M.2 2230 / mini-pcie SSD into the wifi slot of the Yoga 720 15? I own the model with a GTX 1050 and a 512 GB SSD. I am trying to use the extra drive to install CloudReady without having to give up Windows 10. Not sure if it's possible and allowed by the PCIE slot's specifications, physical space in the PC, and the bios lock. I will use a USB wifi dongle for internet.

Hey there, 2001zhaozhao!
Welcome to the Lenovo forum discussion!
As we were checking here, we do not see any problem with replacing the WiFi card of the laptop with a mini-pcie SSD card on the laptop. The only thing that we cannot assure is if the mini-pcie SSD will properly fit on the WiFi slot card on the laptop. Also, if you will replace the WiFi card of the laptop, the Bluetooth functionality will be disabled on the laptop as the Bluetooth antenna is built-in to the WiFi card as well.
In addition, you can check the complete specs of the laptop here https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/Lenovo_Tablets_and_Convertibles/YOGA_720_15?CID=ww:lenovosocial:20x... for the steps on how to replace the WiFi card, please see it under the hardware maintenance manual https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/yoga720-13ikb_yoga720-15ikb_hmm_201702.pdf?CID=ww:l... (see page 39).
