Lenovo yoga 910 glass Display ghost images

2017-10-25, 20:17 PM

I have serious ghost images and a thin horizontal line on the screen.Below the line the ghost image shows and the screen is darker and aboe the line the screen behaves normally.

On the line there is a small light visible when a mouse moves over it.. There is also a strange light at the bottom right and left corners.

I have tried to update the drivers from both intel and miscrosoft and this has not helped.

It is hard to be able to tell from a picture, but the only screens I have seen that looked similar were exposed to a liquid spill.

This problem appeared suddenly while the laptop was still and then suddenly disappeared again a few hours later.

But 4 days later it was back. Both times the problem appeared while the computer was absolutely still and I was working on it for 3h and it was running a bit warmer than usual.
No liquid came near it. The laptop is only 6 weeks in use.

Definitely looks like some liquid got on it.  Is it possible some Windex or some similar window cleaner got on it?

No, also could you be more specific as to why you think that it was exposed to liquid other that "it looks like it".

I went to great effort describing the problem.

..and even those conrners have disappeared and screen is back to normal.

Image is much sharper now than the other lenovo laptop I have.

So the only thing abnormal - and this was there before-  is a vertical light line, at the very right of the task bar and only as long as the task bar is high( 1.5 cm).

My opinion was just from experience. I have seen this many times.

However, due to your issue being intermittent, it must be something else. And it's very strange.

Unfortunately the issue has surfaced again..

After some more searches I started searching on the intel driver and found this  on intel communities thread 110005.

Same model and same graphics card : Intel HD 620  See here. and the video here

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8crTVd9QhRxcExfbllCR3JpV0E/view.

When the flashing occurs and pause there, the display isseus looks the same as what I am experiencing except mine flicks on and stays on and off again  12h later.

So its likely to be a problem with the intel graphics card or some compatibilty issue.

I bought the laptop in Dubai I am not in Dubai but a country that is not listed here but it does have Lenovo products and offices:

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/id/en/iwslookupidea

So what should I do now ?
