It's solved for me in that it's now working. I had to reinstall windows for other reasons, and after doing so and reinstalling Vantage it's woeking as expected now, even after several updates and several days. So I can't do more on "fixing" it since it's not broken. If I experience this problem again I'll open a new ticket, referencing this one. You might want to do the same for your machine. Sorry, but since it's now not broken for me, I can't fix it.
