Re: New BIOS for YOGA 2 Pro - 76CN43WW

I've installed it and I'm having severe issues. Everything freezes. When I open a program my entire computer freezes for 30 seconds. When I right click my entire computer freezes for 30 seconds. When I load a webpage my entire computer freezes for 30 seconds. I'm not 100% sure that this is the cause of my issues, because I do recall having an extremely similar issue the other month but I don't recall how/when it resolved itself. So I'm not 100% sure it's the BIOS that caused these issues. But it didn't start until I updated them. So I'd wait until someone else can confirm or negate my claims.

If you are stuck MID-update for your new BIOS, don't touch anything!!!!!!!
If you lose power or touch ANYTHING during the update you can turn your
computer into a paperweight. To fix that problem you would have to take your
computer apart and install a new BIOS chip in the motherboard. That's a
pretty complicated thing to do.

Re: New BIOS for YOGA 2 Pro - 76CN43WW

I'm downloading the new BIOS... My laptop screen has been in a blank screen now for almost 3 hours. This happened after it was finding updates to my computer. How long is an appropriate time to wait for updates to complete? This is the first BIOS update I've done since purchasing my Yoga 2 Pro a couple of years ago.

Any suggestions?

Found solutions on other forum pages. I manually rebooted my computer since it wouldn't reboot automatically on its own. Seems to be working.
