Re: New energy manager

2014-11-30, 17:43 PM

I placed the Energy Manager 1.0.1.51 as a zip file (100MB) on my Dropbox.

Energy Manager 1.0.1.51.zip on DropBox

As soon as Lenovo is (cap)able to update their support page I will remove the file....

How much effort can it be to update the support site/help your customers more than once every year?

The latest update of the Energy Manager is dated November last year!

And then leave the old version also available for download ...

Another thing is that every customer has to find the latest Lenovo drivers themselves over many products.

The Bison camera drivers of the Yoga 2 13 are much newer/better than the Yoga 2 Pro downloadable ones...

Same issue for the Realtek WLAN drivers, where some laptop drivers are much newer than the Yoga 2 13 ones ...

Can the new energy manager (version 1.0.1.51) be posted to the Yoga 2 Pro driver download page?  Based on comments in this thread it solves the mustard yellow problem. It would be very beneficial to Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro owners if this new version of the energy manager was available directly from Lenovo.

Thank you for your assistance.

Let me talk to the eSupport team. Hopefully have good news.

, which version you meant 'newer'? Can you specify?

Cleo

Re: New energy manager

Nice to see Lenovo is improving on driver support for the Yogas,

although the new WLAN driver for the 7260 is a miss (not tested?) : no AC support

Can you tell the changes for this version, as there is no readme included?

[EDIT]

I did install this version (Win8.1 Dutch).

Excellent update.

It's non responsive and keeps crashing all the time ....

Yes I did reboot Windows (twice)

[UPDATE]

Seems something was wrong updating my last version (language or non official version ?)

Restored my system, first removed the old Energy Manager and now the new Energy Manager works okay.

I uninstalled the old version of EM I had installed (1.0.1.51) and installed the new version 1.5.0.23.

At first I noticed the yellows looked like mustard yellow. After checking it little more I saw that the yellows are good ONLY in Energy Manager High Performance battery plan.

ALL other plans, including Windows' Balanced and High performance have mustard yellow color.

And the USB charging on/off switch has been removed. I didn't check if USB charging has been removed completely or the option to turn it off.

In the previous version of Energy Manager 1.0.1.51 (which Lenovo never cared to even post on their website, but is shared here by good people) ALL the battery plans have good yellows.

I can only ask one question to Lenovo:

Are Lenovo support programmers drunk or they really couldn't care less about Yoga 2 Pro?

(And yes, as a Y2P user I feel insulted by such updates!)
