No Audio Output Device installed on YOGA 730-13

2018-10-16, 13:03 PM

Hello, I bought a Lenovo YOGA 730-13 several weeks ago and since then haven't been able to use the sound on it. It says that there is no Audio Output Device installed on it, and when I push the sound icon it just troubleshoots, but never fixes the problem. Is there anything that I'm supposed to do or missing? Thanks!

Hello

Welcome to the Lenovo Community Forums. Are you using an external speaker? The “No Audio Output Device is installed” error in Windows 10 is due to outdated, corrupt, broken or missing sound drivers.

Step 1. Press Windows key + X to open the search box

Step 2. Type Troubleshooter in the search box and then press Enter

Step 3. Click View all

Step 4. Select Playing audio

Here are more troubleshooting steps that can help: https://lnv.gy/2Ad8vkK;

Please let us know, we are happy to help you.

Thank you for the response. I've troubleshooted several times, and nothing comes up as wrong. Is there something else I need to download or install?

You can try uninstalling the audio drivers in device manager. Here's how to uninstall a driver: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht502484

Then try downloading and installing the drivers manually from here: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-730-13ikb/downloads

We'll pick up from that point.

The only thing is that my laptop doesn't have an audio input or output section in the device manager. Here's a picture of it.

Thank you for the photo. Here is an article for troubleshooting audio issue.

https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht501860?Source=social_eservices&Medium=LITHIUM&Term=eServices_&Content=20181017_20181017122228&linkId=58324098

If all troubleshooting from the link provided doesn't fix the audio issue. This is a hardware problem. If the laptop is still with the return period where you purchased the device. We recommend to contact them regarding hardware problem. If it is no longer within the return period. Warranty repair is needed.
