From my understanding retailers only have access to The Retail Equation's database that's relevant to them only.

 

I can always have a friend make returns anyway and stick with cash.

 

I still do like Best Buy. Don't get me wrong.

 

I like being able to go into the store and pick up and touch the display models - run the gamut - such as fingernail

scratching, twist and bend and flex test the products to guage durability and build quality. Then I like to mosey on

over to their wireless connected display laptops to check the product rating online and give myself a more informed

personal opinion before I run home giddy with excitement logging on to Amazon.com to purchase it cheaper. :)

 

Viva la Best Buy!

And when all you do is support a cheaper purchase from an online retailer, your chances of continuing demo units "hands on" gets slimmer and smaller. I hope the first time you have to buy a car next time you only have to order online...you'll appreciate a knowledgeable salesperson more than a 5 point bullet list mid way through the page online mixed with other suggestive related sales.

By all means, save some money and be educated consumer...but to "your understanding" is very limited it appears. Good luck on your next purchase, not everything is just numbers in a computer database by the way, and those who work in retail will know who you are....you think gossip and grudges went away with the delete key on your account?

Returning a purchase because you are dissatisfied, legitimate.

Whining and boasting in the effect to harm a business just for fun, childish.

I have to say that I wouldn't bother making an example of a bad product by asking a retailer to open every item in their inventory when there is clearly a problem. I do however have no problems returning/exchanging a defective product regardless of the impact to a retailer. If it happened a second time, I'd move on. 99% of my technology purchases are made online. Research is always key. I don't buy open box and won't settle for defects. I'm sticking with lenovo laptops for my business needs, but I will never buy another tablet from them. But that's off topic...

The next time a fast-talking salesperson tries to sell you that electronic device or whatever, I'll simply reply:

"It's too risky. I can't commit to a purchase until I receive confirmation from an independent authority that the product has low defect rates and high customer satisfaction. I can't risk losing my money if the product is defective because I can't return it."

 

Fair is Fair.

it took you 7 tries to figure out that you didn't want this product...like 3 is acceptable. Im glad BBY has a blacklist, god only knows how many you would've gone through at BBY's partial expense. This proves to everyone you are a poor and spiteful consumer. I just wish the guy at the counter would have "forgotten to inform you" of your blacklist status and you ended up stuck with a defective product. would've served you right...
