My pen was not showing as charging. It went to 50% use, then 25% use over time. I restarted my computer, opened the pen app and checked the battery level indicator. It said 25%. I pulled out the pen, tapped the battery level indicator on the app with the pen, and the status indicator immediately switched to full green and 100%. I don't know if the indicator was just wrong, but I've been using the pen quite a bit over the course of the month I've had it. I did replace the Wacom driver when I got it so that I could configure the radial menu functions. Hopefully it is just an indicator problem and not a charging problem, but my pen has never died once. I have an X1 Yoga Gen 4 that I've had for a month. I bought it for when I go to Korea in a few months to teach English, so I don't have time for RMA or warranty service for just the pen.

Thank you for sharing this!!!  Clicking on the battery icon with the actual pen reset it to 100% for me too! I didn't think it would, but it did!  I'd rather it updated the charge level correctly but I can deal with resetting it this way if I need to.  Thank you so much!

I have a brand new Yoga 9i-- and when I first pulled out the pen to use, it seemed to be at 12%. After reading this forum, I tapped the icon with the pen and it did leap to 100%. After using it for a while, it goes down to 50%, but hops back up to 100% if I tap the icon. I won't show me any realistic numbers. And I can't tell if my pen is charging at all when it is garaged. Not sure what the problem is.

Hi - may I know which icon did you click? Thanks very much. 
I also have brand new 9i and it is static at 50% despite being garaged in its original place. Can the Lenovo guys help reply in this forum please ? Why does the battery not indicate that it is being charged once docked automatically? Why is this static at 50%? Did Lenovo con me? Lenovo - if you do reply, would like to thank you ahead. Hope you reply please.

I also have the same issues with yoga 9i. I purchased it in feb 2021 and the pen is not showing right battery status. Seems like this is major fault with this machine. 

The pen I rcvd does not have top barrel as it is shown in the setting.

Apologies for the delayed response as well.

 

Please share here your Yoga 9 laptop's MTM (machine type-model) number for us to check its specifications.

 

It can be seen through the device's label/sticker or its original packaging and does usually have a format of 8********R.

 

Also, please share here your pen's part number as well.

 

Try launching the Lenovo Pen Settings to see if it will show the battery status.

It's usually located in the upper right corner of the screen.
