Persistent Ideapad Yoga 11S Issues

Good Morning,

I've read multiple blogs and tried a host of different things to fix my two persistent Ideapad issues.

1) The computer shuts off immediately after plugging in to recharge the battery

2) The bottom right part of the computer becomes very hot shortly after use.  Fan is on and blowing very hot air.

Any help to resolve would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!

Re: Persistent Ideapad Yoga 11S Issues

Hi lemuirh,

Welcome to the Community Forums.

It can be that both issues originate from overheating as the machine would shut down to prevent damage to the processor and in effect would exhaust hotter air and heating on the lower part.

Checking internally for probable cause and cleaning/ reapplication of thermal paste/pads may help alleviate the symptom as long as there is no system board issue.

Herewith is the hardware manual for needed disassembly steps for review but would suggest to take it to the nearest service center for necessary tools and advance steps if needed.

Hope this help answer your query.

Regards
