Power Button on Yoga 730 is mushy and hard to power on

2018-06-23, 7:37 AM

I have bought two of these laptops. One for myself and another for a family member. While I was updating both of them I noticed that the first one has a  mushy power button. Its not as easy to power on. Is this the same for eveyrone else? Im getting a little worried that this power button would fail too early.

The power "button" is little more than a plastic tab used to press the actual power contacts on the motherboard or daughterboard. Your description leads me to believe either the plastic tab is misaligned (most likely), part of it is broken off or the actual button on the motherboard is loose. Since you just got these, they're likely under warranty. I'd send 'em in and let Lenovo do the fix. If it were out-of-warranty, there's some MacGuyvering you can do to get it working, again.
