Hi,

I have the same laptop and have been looking to upgrade to the same amount.

Can anyone confirm if the preinstalled 8GB for the AMD Yoga 530 is one stick of 8gb or 2 times 4gb? If It's 1 times 8gb I think I'll be satisfied with another 16gb on top for 24.

That's hugely impressive. I do at some point need to do video editing, so having 32gb will be very very helpful. I just uprgraded the much lower spec Ideapad 330s to 20gb from 4gb and it now runs much faster than my Yoga 530 with the 8GB!! Once I get the 32gb I can only imagine how powerful it will be.

So I ran the command prompt you told me about and it says I have 2 times 4gb in the two slots.

Have you looked at upgrading the SSD drive at all? I've been looking at it and it looks like there aren't many SSD types which are compatible- M2 2242 PCIE which is not easy to come by.

I think You can change m.2 ssd disk to m.2 nvme disk without any problem.. In example Samsung pm981. Or You can leave ssd disk as is, create 10 or more gb ramdisk partition with "Dataram Ramdisk" tool, move Your work files to this partition when needed.. This kind of configuration speedup all works, and save your ssd drive lifespan + you can move Your browser cache to ramdisk, and this automaticly cleans browser cache after each computer restart.. If I remember - ramdisk speed about 16Gb /s read/write . it`s a huge speed difference between partition in ramdisk and ssd or even fast nvme disk in m.2 socket... Just You need to remember copy files back to ssd when job is done, cause after reboot they are lost..

I'll look into RAmdisk, thanks.

The Samsung 981 looks like its a 2280 M2 size though, which some users have reported don't think fits, I may have to start a seperate post to get confirmation.

My disk was 256Gb nvme m.2 2242 BC501 model HFM256GDHTNG-8310A

And yes, it means that pm981 do not fit.
